About the artist

Clara Cristina de Souza Rêgo, known to her online audience as @aclaracris, is a Brazilian artist whose vibrant work reflects a deep connection to creativity, rooted in her upbringing and cultural heritage. Born in the 1990s in Brazil, her passion for art was nurtured early on through DIY projects with her grandmother and aunt, setting the foundation for her artistic journey.

She pursued formal studies in industrial and graphic design at the University of Brasilia, leading to a career in user experience design. After completing a master’s degree in integrated design in 2016, she moved to Germany, where her love for painting truly flourished. The extra time during the 2020 pandemic allowed her to fully embrace her art practice.

Her work is characterized by spontaneity and joy, drawing heavily from her Brazilian roots. She approaches painting as an experiment, treating the blank canvas as a space for discovery and play. Influenced by the rhythms and colors of Brazil, she often immerses herself in music, letting the movement and energy guide her brushstrokes. This process results in pieces that are layered, textural, and alive with color.

Her art is an expression of the belief in staying true to what brings joy and fulfillment. Refusing to confine herself to a single technique, her work evolves naturally. The creative journey is just as important as the final image. With every brushstroke, there is an intention to capture a moment of joy and to pass that feeling on to others.

As her work continues to evolve, it remains a dynamic and joyful expression of an inner world. The best is yet to be drawn, and she invites you to join in this journey.
